For those that got no clue what Runescape is; Runescape is an online browser based MMORPG that has usually more than 100,000 people playing simultaneously. Runescape is praised by some but flamed by many. Some say it’s awesome, because it has loads of content and it can be played for free. Other say it’s full with immature kids and that the graphics are making them cry. Want to know my opinion? Then please read on!br /

Lets start with taking a look at the technical side. Runescape has decent graphics; they aren’t annoying but not impressive either. This means the game is playable even on less expensive computers, but people with a decent computer don’t get any advantage out of this. Runescape doesn’t require any serious installation process, and it can played anywhere because it’s a browser based game. So personally I wouldn’t say the technical side of Runescape “sucks”, I’d say it aims for a broader public than just hardcore gamers.br /

Secondly, let’s take a look at their content. There’s a wide range of skills that can be trained in Runescape, personally the word “overkill” comes to mind but I hear lots of positive comments about that around me. Most possibilities requires someone to become “Member”, this means you support Runescape with $5-10 per month (Price varies depending on where you’re paying from and how you’re paying). If you’re member there’s 100’s of hours in quests to complete. I’m not talking about the typical “Get me 5 goblin swords” quests , but serious quests involving a decent story line. I think content is Runescape’s best feature.br /

Thirdly I’d like to take a look at the community. I often hear people complaining about Runescape’s community, and to be honest: Yeah the community makes me cry! There are many kids younger than 14 running around begging for items, every public place is spammed by scammers and if someone has a chance to steal your leather boots (worthless) they wouldn’t hesitate. Runescape’s new CEO already identified this problem and told the community that they’re looking for a solution. Luckily enough there’s a good “ignore players” mode which always worked perfect for me. Lastly I’d like to share my opinion on the overall game play. I really don’t like how almost everything in Runescape is done with the mouse, I like walking with the keyboard way better.
